Journal Scope

We aim to provide a platform for both qualitative and quantitative work that helps empowering individuals to flourish in their work environment. Submissions may relate to, but are not limited to, one of the following areas:

Employee Health and Well-being & Flourishing at Work

We welcome research that delves into fostering the physical health or mental, emotional, and social well-being of employees in various work settings. We seek cutting-edge research that investigates how individuals can thrive and stay healthy at work, experience joy and flow, and achieve a harmonious work-life balance. We especially appreciate studies that develop or evaluate interventions to support mental well-being. Studies focusing on proactive measures and policies designed to prevent and mitigate the negative effects of occupational stress and burnout or other psychosocial risks in the workplace are also invited for submission. Lastly, we are also interested in studies that deal with workplace reintegration, return to work interventions and workplace disability management.

Personal and Professional Growth & Advancement of People

Investigations into the personal and professional development of individuals within organizations are a second topic of interest of the journal. We encourage research on career growth, skill development, learning opportunities, and self-actualization in the workplace that reflects the dynamic evolution of labour market changes. Investigations into the growth and development of individuals in organizations, focusing on areas such as career development, training and development programs, and opportunities for skill enhancement and promotion are therefore highly welcome.

Human-Centred Technology & Human-Technology Interaction

We seek for studies that examine the integration of new technologies, such as MR (Mixed Reality), VR (Virtual Reality), robotics, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and socio-technical system design, while considering their impact on human experiences, functioning, satisfaction, and autonomy. Studies examining the impact of new technologies, including MR, VR, robotics, AI , and sociotechnical system design on employees’ well-being, job performance, and overall organizational productivity will find a perfect home in the journal.

Empowering Leadership & Leadership Research

Empirical and conceptual research on leadership that fosters employee empowerment, meaningful engagement, and collaborative decision-making, promoting a positive organizational culture will also fit with the scope of the journal. Empirical and theoretical research on leadership styles, practices, and their effects on employee motivation, team dynamics, and organizational outcomes are therefore welcome. Furthermore, we encourage ethical and sustainable leadership studies that explore how these behviors/styles promote responsible and socially conscious organizational behavior of employees.

Humanistic Methodologies & Methodological Aspects from Practice

The journal looks for papers that advocate for and utilize humanistic methodologies, qualitative approaches, and participatory research giving voice to employees and enhancing our understanding of their experiences. In particular, we are interested in studies that apply various methodological approaches in organizational research, including HR analytics, data-driven decision-making, andevidence-based practices.

Nurturing Team Dynamics & Team Dynamics and Group Research

Studies investigating the dynamics of work teams or groups, factors influencing team cohesion, and strategies for building effective, diverse, and inclusive teams will fit with the scope of the journal. Special topics here include how remote work influences team dynamics and collaboration practices. Moreover, investigations of team dynamics, group collaboration, and performance in organizations with an emphasis on understanding factors that contribute to effective teamwork are welcome.

Organizational Well-being and Sustainable Development: Long-term Studies in Organizations Organizational Processes and Change Management

The journal considers research on organizational strategies that prioritize both employee well-being and long-term sustainable growth, promoting ethical practices and social responsibility. Longitudinal research investigating the impact of organizational policies, practices, and interventions over extended periods on employee well-being, job satisfaction, and organizational success. Research examining and evaluating organizational processes, change management initiatives, and organizational development studies aimed at enhancing employee well-being and productivity.
